SAI Olympics

Winning isn’t Everything; But Wanting to Win Is ! – Vince Lombardi

SAI Olympics, the annual sports meet at SAI International School, begins on a vibrant and euphoric note. It is an event much awaited by students and teachers alike and applauds the talent of the SAIoneers. The atmosphere vibrates with a strong house spirit. The staffrooms, classrooms, hallways and the sports field are all abuzz with the talk of the house athletes, house teams and points to win and lose. The event is a euphoric mix of physical fitness and agility, nail biting races, outstanding talent displays, colorful drills and spectacular cultural performances for the closing ceremony.

The opening ceremony is laced beautifully with a salutation from all the four houses in a regimented march past to the exhilarating beats of the School band. This is followed by the flag hoisting and lighting of the torch. Signifying the symbol of peace amidst the joyful bursting of paper crackers, pigeons are released depicting freedom and flight. Reflecting the spirit of soaring high in the air, balloons of tri-colors of saffron, white and green symptomatic of our national flag are released.
