Global Immersion Programme to Singapore – Shine in Singapore

The Global Immersion Programme (GIP) to Singapore started on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Fourteen students of SAI International School along with 14 other students of SAI International Residential School (SIRS) had participated for the 7-day programme.
The team had a great learning experience in the foreign land. Among other activities, they took part in the 3-day ‘Entrepreneurship Exploration Programme’ at the prestigious Nanyang Technological University (NTU), to learn how to turn their ideas into projects on a global platform. Students were given a briefing on Entrepreneurship and Startups by Mr. Zong Han, a young entrepreneur and trainer as well as indulged in a lot of interesting activities. Mr.Han shared with the students the five crucial processes for design thinking like ‘Empathize’, ‘define’, ‘Ideate’, ‘Prototype’ and ‘Test’. They were also asked to develop a business idea, search for the flaws in the idea and the probable solutions to it, focus on the uniqueness of the idea and also the cost structure.

They watched a movie “Space Next” which offers a glimpse into tomorrow and the possibilities of what is to come by way of private space developments and national space programmes. The movie gave them a great insight about our future.

They learnt interesting facts about the country, its history and it’s future from their guide Ms. Joe. They spent a wonderful time visiting the Gardens by the Bay, which is a nature park spanning 101 hectares of reclaimed land. Students loved to see the huge, colourful, futuristic park filled with flowers of various hues and shapes. The team spent a lot of time studying the various species of plants and clicking some amazing pictures. They also got to watch a short movie ‘The Wings of Time’ screened on the Sentosa beach depicting the progress of man over the ages.
