Ensuring safety at the workplace is a shared responsibility, and preparedness plays a crucial role in preventing emergencies. Keeping this in focus, a dedicated Fire Safety Training session was organised for the Cafeteria staff and SAI Helpers to strengthen their awareness and readiness in handling fire-related situations.
The session aimed to familiarise the participants with the basic principles of fire safety and the precautions required in areas where cooking equipment and electrical appliances are frequently used. Trainers explained how small lapses can lead to hazardous situations and highlighted simple yet effective practices that help maintain a safe working environment.
During the programme, the participants were introduced to various fire safety tools and were shown the correct method of operating fire extinguishers. The demonstration enabled them to understand how quick and appropriate action can help control a fire at an early stage. The training also included guidance on identifying emergency exits, responding calmly during critical moments, and assisting in the safe evacuation of people if required.
Interactive demonstrations and practical exercises made the session highly engaging and helped the staff gain confidence in managing unforeseen situations. By learning the right techniques and procedures, the team is now better equipped to respond promptly and responsibly in case of an emergency.
Such initiatives play a vital role in creating a culture of safety and awareness within the institution. By empowering the cafeteria team and support staff with essential fire safety knowledge, the training contributes to a more secure campus environment, ensuring the well-being of everyone who works and learns within the premises.
