Twelve students of SAI won 34 medals in various events like Free Style, Butter Fly, Back Stroke, Individual Medley and Breast Stroke at the 58th Odisha State Sub-Junior and Junior Swimming Championship 2017, held at Sambalpur in June 2017. Mannata Mishra with 5 medals and Soumya Ranjan Parida with 4 medals emerged as Individual Champions. The ten other Winners were Yajat Gupta (2 medals), Akshya Vidya Matta (1 medal), Divyanka Pradhan (4 medals), Sneha Shatpathy (2 medals), Akankshya Nayak (1 medal), Ayush Aryaman Badu (1 medal), Sourav Bhuyan (2 medals), Manmayi Mohapatra (5 medals), Orissa Lee Patnaik (3 medals) and Khushi Gupta (4 medals).
SAI International School always encourages and facilitates its students to learn swimming from a very young age and become adept swimmers. The school houses four different swimming pools to cater to different level of students. SAI International School sets a new record by 47% of its students securing 10 CGPA and 100% first division in the CBSE Class X Examination, the result of which was declared on Saturday, June 3, 2017. All the 171 students who had appeared for the examination came out with flying colours. Out of them, 94.7% secured more than 75% of marks and 66% of students secured above 90% marks.
A wave of jubilation swept the school as students and teachers celebrated the success along with the Chairman Dr. Bijoy Kumar Sahoo, Trustee Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Principal Shri Harish Sanduja, Vice Principals, Parents and others. Mugdha Mohapatra of SAI International School scored an All India Ranking of 55 in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2017, the result of which was announced on Monday, May 29, 2017. Mugdha will continue her higher studies in the highly prestigious National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, the best ranking NLU of the Country. Around 50,000 students had appeared for the Undergraduate Law Programme for 18 NLUs situated all over the Country. Mugdha is a hard working girl who also topped the Humanities stream of SAI International School with 95.6%. She attributes her success to her teachers and parents whose constant motivation enabled her to give her best effort.
The 4th SAI Premier League was held from May 5 to 15, 2017 in the premises of SAI International School. A total of six teams participated in the tournament, where six league matches, two semi-finals and one final match was played. The Opening Ceremony was graced by Shri Abakash Khatua, Ex Captain and Coach of Odisha Ranjit team. After a ten-day series of exciting matches, SICC-Dashers lifted the Champions Trophy defeating XII Commerce-All Risers by 60 runs, in a highly interesting match. S.K.Aman of SICC-Dashers was declared as The Man of the Match. Chairman Dr.B.K.Sahoo applauded both the teams for their wonderful performance as well as appreciated all the players from the six teams for their talent, enthusiasm, sportsman spirit and discipline.
‘The Sourav Mohanty Memorial Trophy’ which is awarded to the Man of the Tournament was bagged by Sahil Sohan Dehuri of XII Commerce-All Stars. The other awardees of the Tournament were Shreesh Patnaik, Secondary School-Young Strikers-The Best Bowler , Rohit Kumar, XII Science-Jaguars - Best Batsman, S.K.Aman, SICC-Dashers-Best Wicket Keeper, Swarup Samantray, XII Science-Jaguars - Best Fielder.
Awards were also given to the Man of the Match of each league and semi-final match. The winners were S.K.Aman, Girish Patra, Sahil Sohan Dehuri, Saitosh Mohanty, Chandan Jena, Rohit Kumar and Shreesh Pattnaik.
Students of SAI International School observe the International Day of Services every year with lots of enthusiasm and a sense of service for the mankind. This year twelve students from Class XI and XII along with two Coordinators spent a memorable day at Shree Krishna Anand Old Age Care on Saturday, May 13,2017. SAIoneers had a meaningful and though provoking time interacting with the elderly people who have valuable advices and shared their personal experiences. The students gifted cards and flowers which were graciously accepted by the senior citizens who also joined the youngsters in singing some melodious tunes. SAIoneers were overwhelmed by the unbounded love showered upon them by the elderly people.
